Club Teams

We enter teams in the Skipton Merit League, the Skipton 5,4,3,2,1 League, the Worth Valley Veterans League (over 60s) and the Worth Valley Wednesday League. Skipton League games are played on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings, starting at 7.00pm. The Worth Valley Veterans League games are played on Monday mornings at 11.30am or afternoons at 2.00pm and the Wednesday League games take place on Wednesday afternoons, starting at 1.30pm.

We have three teams (A, B and C) in the Skipton Merit League; three teams (A, B and C) in the Skipton 5,4,3,2,1 League; four teams (A, B, C and D) in the Worth Valley Veterans League and two teams (A and B) in the Worth Valley Wednesday League.

A team has eight players and the winner of each game is the first to score 21. In the Worth Valley Veterans games we play doubles and a team is made up of three pairs. In these games the winning pair is the first to reach 25. The Worth Valley Wednesday League teams are made up of two pairs and four singles, who all play up to 21.

In the Merit League a game is decided on a straight win or lose basis but in the 5,4,3,2,1 League points are awarded according to your score - one point for every five you have scored.

We also try to arrange friendly games against other clubs on an ad hoc basis and in some years we enter a team in the Skipton Floodlit League, which takes place in September and October as the nights are drawing in. To find out more, please email us at bowlsgargrave@gmail.com

Details of all the club teams; the match fixtures and results; the league tables; averages and so on can all be found at www.bowlsnet.uk  or elsewhere on this website

Social Bowls

We hold informal social afternoons on Sundays at 2.00pm. This is to welcome new bowlers to the club.  Everyone is welcome to attend, whether you are already a member or not yet. You don’t need your own bowls and all tuition is provided completely free of charge.

Come and have some refreshment and enjoy an informal afternoon playing bowls! You may find that you would like to take part in a friendly competition against another club.

2024 C team players

We held a game between two teams of C team players - a great crowd of people!
