Club Rules
Gargrave Bowling Club Rules (January 2024)
The club shall be known as Gargrave Bowling Club.
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) shall elect a committee for the efficient running of the club. An independent auditor shall also be appointed.
The committee shall consist of: Secretary; Treasurer; Safeguarding Officer(s); Catering Officer; Facility Officer; Green Liaison Officer; Fund Raising Officer; Website Coordinator; and other members as deemed necessary. The chairman to be elected by the committee.
Team captains shall be appointed at the Annual General Meeting.
The subscription of the club shall be fixed at the AGM and must be paid by 30th April. Non-payers will not be allowed to play until all outstanding subscriptions are paid.
A list of members is to be displayed in the pavilion.
After the selection committee have chosen the teams any amendment shall be dealt with by the captain, whose decision is final.
Junior members are defined as those under eighteen years of age.
The committee shall promote interest by running such competitions as may be appropriate and shall particularly organise handicaps for annual competitions.
The AGM shall be held before the end of December, at which meeting shall elect officers mentioned in rules two to four
Any alterations or additions to the rules may only be made at the AGM.
If circumstances arise which the committee are unable to decide then an extraordinary meeting shall be called.
Any committee member not attending four consecutive meetings without good cause shall be deemed to have resigned. Their seat may be filled by co-option or left vacant.
The committee shall not transact any business with fewer than five members present.
The data protection policy, which includes a list of individual's rights and how to object, is set out in full on the club's website. Individual's personal details will be stored and processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations. Individual's information will be used to provide them with membership services and will not be shared with third parties.
To be eligible for the individual average prizes then no more than four league matches may be missed in each individual league.
